Location, Location, Location

I LOVE Location shoots, I live in an amazing area so makes sense to use it! As lockdown has started to ease more I've been getting out and getting creative. Filling my time with engagement shoots rain or shine.

Stuart and Jess

I was hired to shoot engagement photos for Stuart and Jess via a fellow photographer friend (No pressure right) I hadn't met or had any communication with the couple prior to the shoot. This is unusual for me however I very much looked forward to the shoot!

I chose a beautiful place overlooking Crai Reservoir a location I have used a few times over the years... Well to put it blunt it pissed down (can I say that in my blog?), It was hella windy too with fog which of course produced mud. We couldn't reschedule and the couple really liked this location so we went for it! I'm so glad we did! Rain never puts me off and WOW they rocked it! Take a look at a few of my favourite photos from their session.

Emma & Dean

I've known Emma & Dean for awhile so when I was asked to be their wedding photographer I was delighted, lucky for them they are getting married next year so will hopefully be unaffected by any Covid-19 drama. We decided to do an engagement shoot this summer since I had some spare time due to Covid-19.

We stayed in Brecon for this shoot, it was a lovely summers evening with a slight threat of rain in the air. But once again a little rain doesn't bother me. I asked if they were up for getting into the shallow river and they said yes! I was thrilled, here are some of my favourite images from their session.

Jay & Max

I've known Jay for about a year as we work together at Theatr Brycheiniog, we were casually chatting one night and joked about me doing a couples shoot for him and his boyfriend Max... Once I've got an idea in my head I have to shoot it. We soon started to plan this session for real.

We picked the Crug, again an local area. I decided that sun set would be a nice time for these photos. It was a HOT shoot...as in the sun was beating down, but we made it to the top of the Crug in good time. I relaxed for a bit before photos cooled off and talked over my plan of action once more. Then it was LIGHTS (sunset) CAMERA (me)... ACTION (the boys)!

It was a great shoot, great views and great fun, here are some of my favourite images from the session.

Chelsea & Charlie

I first met Chelsea and Charlie at a wedding I was hired for a year or so back, and we became friends on Social Media. I love that I get to make friends through my work. Chelsea responded to a post where I was looking for a couple to come and do some photos for me so I could experiment with smoke bombs and get some marketing material.

We chatted for a while about locations and ideas I had, this wasn't a shoot I wanted to rush into so after a few weeks of planning we picked two locations. One being a Sunflower field I had already shot in, around 10 minutes out of Brecon and the other being Brecon prom. We had really strong wind and a heavy downpour a few days before our shoot, so unfortunately the sunflowers where not looking their best, but we had fun there!

The real fun started when we got to the prom, I felt like a kid in a sweet shop... It was slightly over cast, puddles still on the ground and not to many people around. PERFECT! This was a long shoot for me. My engagement shoots don't tend to last over an hour but this lasted for two, as we had quite a bit to do and I wanted perfect lighting for the smoke bombs. Chelsea and Charlie where awesome. They were fun, listened to everything I asked and had a brilliant connection, I was really glad I chose them to do this shoot for me. here are a few of my favourite photos from the session.

Not an engagement shoot, but I love this session so adding it anyway! I did this a few weeks before Chelsea and Charlie shoot in the sunflower field. I've known Gemma for a few years and know how much she loves sunflowers so when I decided to go there to shoot some photos I ask Gemma to come along! We had a blast! here are some of my favourite photos from the session.

As you can tell I love shooting outside, my calendar is starting to really fill up too! So i'll have some more photos to share in a few weeks I'm sure! If you got this far thanks for reading!
